About Me

ECarullo@comcast.net: Amesbury, MA, United States; I am an oil and pastel artist. My interest in art began in childhood where I would sketch cartoon characters, animals as well as landscapes. Oil paintings have always been interesting and fascinating to me. I decided to take a class in oil painting in January, 2010. Since then, I have painted over a year and a half under the guidance of my current instructor, Robin Thornhill, at the Artists’ Muse in Amesbury. I enjoy traveling throughout picturesque New England where I capture landscapes and then attempt to translate the beauty onto canvas. Whether it is the mountains of New Hampshire or the beaches of Cape Cod, these landscapes inspire me. I work from photographs, experiences and my imagination. I primarily paint in the studio, but you can occasionally find me plein air painting around the area. I know painting will always be a part of my life because it brings me so much joy. I recently have devoted some time learning about charcoals and pastels. I really enjoy the variations of color that pastels have to offer.
